Held on 26–28 May 2025 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC) in Shanghai, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR strengthened its industry leadership in its 27th edition with exhibition area, exhibitor numbers and international visitor diversity. The fair hosted more than 1,500 companies and brands across a gross exhibition area of 210,000 m² and reached a total of 83,056 visitors from 124 countries. The number of international visitors rose to 18,121.
Participant and visitor satisfaction increased
At the fair, exhibitors showcased their latest products and technologies across a broad spectrum. The exhibitor satisfaction index was reported as 7.6. On the visitor side, satisfaction reached 8.9. The intention to revisit the next edition stood at 90 percent, while optimism regarding the Chinese market was measured at 73 percent.
International visitor profile: Southeast Asia stood out
While most visitors came from Asia, Southeast Asia accounted for 21 percent of international attendance, making it the fastest-growing region. Notable increases were recorded from Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The Middle East reached a 7 percent share for the first time, with Saudi Arabia up 49 percent compared to 2024. Visitor numbers from the United States grew by 9 percent. Europe accounted for 20 percent of total international visits. Australia ranked among the top five countries by representation and recorded a 10 percent increase over the previous year. Visits originating from South America rose by 42.6 percent.
Domestic Chinese market: East China dominated
Fifty-five percent of domestic visits came from East China. The top 10 provinces/cities were reported as: Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, Anhui, Hebei, Beijing, Henan and Fujian.
High tempo in buyer delegations and B2B matchmaking
To strengthen access to qualified buyers, the fair organized purchasing delegations through various partnerships. Delegations were formed with ATFA from Australia and New Zealand, the carpet industry association from Japan, MIIP and Creative Home from Malaysia, and EACHAM across Europe and the USA. Within China, buyer organizations were carried out with 12 different regional groups.
Under the matchmaking programs, more than 180 selected buyers from 24 countries joined guided tours at over 100 booths, and more than 450 one-on-one business meetings were held across three sessions.
Concurrent events: Focus on design, innovation and sustainability
The concurrent content program, cadex, approached flooring, walls, ceilings and furniture within a holistic interior concept under the theme “Let’s Enjoy,” with a focus on interior design and architecture. Future-oriented material innovations were highlighted in the “Material Matters” area. The China Flooring Innovation Summit centered on innovation and sustainability, focusing on the sector’s high-quality growth.
Meanwhile, within the scope of the “Chinese Original Carpet Design Show,” more than 140 submissions by 60 designers from 22 companies were evaluated. Forty-one designers were honored, 43 works were exhibited, and 9 awards were presented.
Media visibility and 2026 dates
The event reported more than 600 pieces of content and advertisements across print and online channels through over 70 domestic and international media partners, and reached a community of more than 100,000 across 13 social platforms.
The next DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR fair is planned to be held on 27–29 May 2026 again at Shanghai NECC.
